Question: I've decided to purchase an XD45, but I am getting negative feed back from my peers. They are telling me I should go for the .40 CAL.. They are telling me the .40 cal has better accuracy and stopping power than the .45. I'm not a big handgun expert so I am wondering if you could help me on my decision? I thought the bigger the caliber the better stopping power.

Answer:Well thats a big debate..
I personally choose the .40 also, and most of the people I know do too.
However I know a lot of people who use the .45, and even a few good shooters who use 9mm
I think it depends on what you can control and shoot best under the most conditions. Thats what will work for you
I shoot all three about the same, so the 40 won out for the best mix of power and mag capacity
I OWN AN XD 45 AND IT DOESENT HAVE AS MUCH KICK AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD. I FIND IT VERY CONTROLABLE. AND MORE ACCURATE THAN I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT MY 357 MAGNUM HAS MORE KICK THAN MY 45. I ORIGINALY WANTED TO GO WITH A 40 CAL BUT AM MORE THAN SATISFIED WITH MY .45
